Chichibu Distillery is a Japanese distillery located in the city of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. Founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, grandson of legendary distillery owner Hanyu Distillery, Chichibu Distillery is one of Japan's fastest growing whiskey producers. Although relatively new, the distillery has earned a strong reputation among whiskey fans for its focus on quality and innovation. Chichibu is renowned for using clear mountain streams and local malt to create a whiskey with a unique and distinctive character. Although their production is still limited, each expression from Chichibu Distillery is highly regarded for the care and dedication put into each bottle.
