Penicillin is a cocktail renowned for its complex and warming combination of scotch whisky with hints of honey and fresh lemon. The Penicillin recipe is one of Sam Ross's creations, a celebrated mixologist. Here's the recipe for Penicillin:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces (60 ml) scotch whisky
  • ¾ ounce (22.5 ml) honey syrup (dissolved in hot water if needed)
  • ¾ ounce (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ ounce (7.5 ml) ginger syrup*
  • Ice cubes

*How to make ginger syrup: Mix 1 part water with 1 part sugar and fresh ginger pieces. Simmer until the sugar is fully dissolved and let it boil for a few minutes. Cool before using.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice cubes.
  2. Pour scotch whisky, honey syrup, fresh lemon juice, and ginger syrup into the shaker.
  3. Shake the mixture well for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Strain the cocktail mixture into a prepared serving glass filled with ice cubes.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
