The story begins in the late 1970s, amidst the Vallée des Fées (Valley of the Fairies), when two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, decided to craft their own beer in a garage. With little money they had at the time, they embarked on what beer enthusiasts now call the "Chouffe Tale". Their inaugural batch of 49 liters was produced on August 27, 1982.
