Old Cuban

Old Cuban is a sophisticated cocktail that combines elements of the classic Mojito with a touch of champagne elegance. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) aged rum
  • 3/4 ounce (22 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) simple syrup (1:1 ratio of water to sugar)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) champagne
  • Mint sprig, for garnish
  • Lime twist, for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the lime juice and simple syrup.
  2. Add the aged rum and Angostura bitters to the mixing glass.
  3. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and shake well until thoroughly chilled.
  4. Double strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
  5. Top off the cocktail with champagne.
  6. Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime twist.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

The Old Cuban is a delightful blend of rum, mint, citrus, and champagne, resulting in a refreshing and sophisticated cocktail experience. Cheers!
